Key responsibilities as an attorney with Z Family Law are to: • Represent: You will provide knowledgeable legal counsel and advocacy in all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody, support, and property division. Your knowledge will guide clients through challenging times.
• Litigate: You will handle all phases of family law litigation, from pleadings and discovery to settlement negotiations, trials, and post-judgment matters. Your strategic approach will be key to achieving the best outcomes for clients.
• Advocate: You will present persuasive, thematically driven arguments in court during trials, hearings, and settlement discussions, upholding ethical and professional standards in all interactions and legal proceedings.
• Negotiate: You will lead negotiations and mediation on behalf of clients, striving to reach amicable resolutions that align with their goals and best interests.
• Strategize: You will develop, implement, and oversee case strategies tailored to the unique needs and goals of each client, ensuring a path that aligns with their best interests.
• Collaborate: You will work closely with colleagues, paralegals, legal assistants, and other administrative staff to ensure cases are handled efficiently and effectively, maintaining open lines of communication within the team.
• Connect: You will build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients by providing compassionate, responsive, results-driven, and comprehensive legal services.
• Deliver: You will meet a billable hour requirement of 1,560 hours annually, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and achieving client satisfaction.
• Manage: You will oversee family law cases within the firm's established policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and quality in our legal services.
• Learn: You will stay updated on family law statutes and precedents, remain informed of any changes in the field, and meet continuing education requirements to enhance your knowledge.
• Own: You will take full ownership of developing case strategies, including preparing and drafting legal documents such as pleadings, trial memoranda, motions, discovery requests, marital settlement agreements, and prenuptial agreements.
As a Senior Attorney at Z Family Law, you will play a key role in providing exceptional legal services to clients. You will manage a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, domestic violence, and property division. You will handle cases from start to finish, including developing case strategies, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court. Regular client communication will be essential as you guide clients through the legal process and set realistic expectations. Collaboration with other attorneys and support staff will be crucial to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
Qualifications:
• Must hold a valid license to practice law in Maryland and preferably in DC and/or Virginia.
• Demonstrated experience of 3-5 years in handling family law cases in Maryland and/or DC.
• Proven track record in litigating and negotiating with successful courtroom experience.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other legal professionals and support staff to achieve optimal client outcomes.
• Excellent skills in legal research, writing, and oral advocacy, with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to advocate for clients both in and out of court.
• Comfortable and proficient with technology to enhance client accessibility and team collaboration.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve billable targets while delivering top-tier client service.
• Approach every case with empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to understanding and meeting client needs.
• Fluency in Spanish is an added advantage.
