Job Description

VPT, Inc. is looking for an experienced Marketing Communications Specialist to join our Sales & Marketing Team. This is a full-time position located in our Blacksburg, VA headquarters. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Communications Specialist plays a key role in executing effective marketing programs including industry events, partner communications, advertising, website management, and digital campaigns.

About the Role:

As the Marketing Communications Specialist, you will work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement, monitor, and refine the company’s annual marketing strategy. You will take ownership of campaign elements, actively contribute to lead generation and brand awareness initiatives, and help ensure marketing efforts are consistent, creative, and results driven.

We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and proactive individual with 2-3 years of marketing experience who is genuinely passionate about the field and thrives in a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the company website, including building new landing pages, improving UX, and optimizing content for SEO.
  • Execute advertising campaigns from ad development to placement and performance review.
  • Coordinate the company’s participation in industry tradeshows and events, including registration, logistics, promotion, and follow-up.
  • Create, edit, and publish content for social media, email campaigns, blog posts, and press releases.
  • Present ideas and strategies clearly and effectively to internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Analyze marketing data to track campaign effectiveness, provide reporting, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align messaging and ensure consistent brand representation.
  • Stay informed of industry and marketing trends to bring fresh ideas to the table.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in a marketing role.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills. (Writing samples may be requested.)
  • Experience with CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (ClickDimensions or similar).
  • Experience in developing various types of marketing content (case studies, videos, white papers, etc.).
  • Competency with analytics and reporting tools like Google Analytics 4.
  • Understanding of SEO and digital tools such as SEMrush, Google Ads, Google Search Console, and others.
  • Because of the nature of this position a US Person is required.
