Kantishna Roadhouse (KRH) is a full-service, backcountry lodge located 90 miles into the pristine natural wonder of Denali National Park in a remote area where few are lucky enough to travel. Employees at the Roadhouse will find adventure, tranquility and an escape from every-day modern life. The season at Kantishna Roadhouse is approximately from June 3 - September 13 and KRH is seeking candidates available to stay the entire season. Room and board are provided free of charge for this position.

JOB SUMMARY: The dishwasher/kitchen helper washes dishes with a machine, pots and pans by hand, mops, general kitchen cleaning, and other kitchen duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operate and maintain dishwashing machine
• Wash pots and pans by hand
• Maintain cleanliness and product standards
• Clean floor drains and empty grease traps daily
• Clean hood exhaust panels and unit weekly
• Recycle and wash out recyclable containers
• Remove trash and debris from the kitchen and wash trash containers
• Sweep and mop kitchen, service area, and employee dining room daily
• Unload food and other supplies from the delivery truck
• Stock delivered items
• Load trash truck for weekly haul-out
• May be required to work split shifts
• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum age 18 years
• Must have a current ADEC Alaska Food Worker Card
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening tests
• One (1) year commercial kitchen experience preferred

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Kantishna Roadhouse is remotely located within Denali National Park. The work is performed in the kitchen setting with a wide variety of people of differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: An individual will be on their feet throughout their workday. They will need stamina and the ability to bend, twist, reach, and lift (1-75 lbs.) on a regular basis.
